As Staff Technologist for the Open Technology Initiative at the New America Foundation, Daniel Meredith utilizes his background in developing open source and open standard technology solutions for organizational, community, and municipal networks to provide research on emerging hardware and software, provide support for allied public interest groups, aid in disseminating and evaluating information contained in policy briefs and white papers, along with helping to develop Open Technology Initiatives IT resources.

Before joining New America, Dan was a Software Engineer for OJC Technologies. He is also a founding board member and Senior Network Engineer of the CUWiN Foundation, board secretary for the Acorn Active Media Foundation, and has roots from Central Illinois working with the Independent Media Center (Indymedia) movement.
